MAX IS A SWEET AND AMAZING BOY WITH SPECIAL NEEDS. Max was abandoned by his family to animal control because they said he was blind and not eating. The fact is was that Max was neglected medically and needed help. He had an ulcerated cornea from chronic dry eye and is a diabetic. We were able to save his eye and got him on his much needed insulin to balance his blood sugar. He is well on his way to a healthy life and looking for his forever home! Max is vision impaired and will need eye drops his entire life. That does not stop Max from playing and enjoying life! He loves to take walks and enjoys the company of other nice dogs. He is happy to hang out with his people or play with his toys. He will always need his twice daily insulin and must have his blood sugar watched and regulated. His new family needs to be able to commit to the long haul which includes giving him his shots every 12 hours and being vigilant about his sugar check ups. He would be ideal in home that has worked with diabetics and has someone at home to keep his feeding and shots on schedule. Max is an amazing dog with a loving disposition. He deserves a committed family who won't abandon him again. He will provide unconditional love in return! Max is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his shots, and heartworm negative . He is looking for a committed foster in the Skokie, IL area or a qualified loving adopter. If you are interested in Max please contact us.
