Gorgeous Duke is a 3 year old Mastiff mix and volunteer favorite. He got on board The Rescue Train when his owner fell onto hard financial times and asked our rescue to take him in so he wouldn’t have to go to the shelter. Duke is a 90lb sensitive dog. It was hard for him to say good bye to his person as he is incredibly loyal. The sun has come out and Duke is now ready to show the world his happy silly side and find love again.
Duke is a lovely dog and good with all ages of people. Just like his name sake “Marmaduke” he sometimes doesn’t know his own strength and size and likes to stand close to people, so he wouldn’t’ be a good match for small children or senior citizens because he could accidentally knock someone over.
Duke is well behaved on leash around other dogs. However he can be insecure and defensive around some dogs so for this reason we feel he would be best as the only dog in a home.
He would be great for a person that has experience with large dogs and is looking for a special soul as a companion.
Duke is neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. If you can open your heart and home to this beautiful boy please go to www.TheRescueTrain.org and fill out an adoption application.
Thank you for caring about Duke!
