Hello there! Thank-you for clicking on my profile, I’d love to meet you. Let me tell you a little bit about adopting me.
My name is Ricky and I am a 3 year old neutered male Shih Tzu who came to NBS Animal Rescue when my momma became ill and was unable to care for me. Her family and friends reached out to NBS Animal Rescue to help make sure that I was well taken care of and to help us find a new home that would love us fur-ever.
I am a sweet and somewhat shy fella at first who loves to spend time with the people in my life who I trust. I'm a quiet gentleman most of the time, but don't worry - I'll let you know if someone comes to the door in case the door bell isn't working properly! :-) I like spending time with my people and canine friends and quickly find my way into your lap for some ear scratches and belly rubs. I get along with most other dogs if they are friendly and mellow. I would really love for my fur-ever home to have another small playful dog who wants to be my play buddy so that we can romp together in a fenced yard!
I am a gentle and loving fella and know how to sit, potty outside, give kisses, and walk nicely on a leash, although I'm not much for long walks. I'm also very trustworthy in the house when you are gone...but I hope you won't be gone too long - I love spending time laying on your lap, lounging in the back yard, snuggling on the couch taking a nap together! I would love to live in a calm home with someone who will give me lots of love - I sure have a lot of love in my heart to give my new family!
My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. Not all of my friends here at NBS Animal Rescue have the same requirements, so if I’m not be the perfect fit for your family- be sure to check out my other doggy friends too! For me?
These are the things I fur-sure need in my fur-ever home!
- Family who is gone no longer than 6 hour periods.
- Children must be 10 yrs or older
- 100% fenced in yard.
- Prefer home with another small friendly, playful dog.
If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:
1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.
3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
