Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET CEECEE
This little, 11.8 lb, chocolate, longhaired, female Dachshund is between 6 and 7 years old and has just come to Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc from an animal control shelter where she was brought in very bad condition. This poor little doxie had clearly been mistreated and had to have surgery to remove four kidney stones and was spayed. The vet also said she needs a full dental with many extractions. CEECEE will be fostered with a loving ODR, Inc. volunteer while she heals and where she will start to learn that she is safe and cared for. Once we have a better handle on little CEECEE's, she will be available for adoption to a doxie savvy family where she can be the one and only child.
UPDATE (as of 9-14-2015) from CEECEE's foster mom:
CeeCee is doing great! She is a super nice little dog. She is potty trained and walks on and off a leash and is well behaved. She gets along with people and other dogs. No aggression at all.
As mentioned above, CEECEE will do best in a doxie savvy family with a stay at home parent. Like all Dachshunds, CEECEE is high energy and enjoys playing and warming her little bones in the sunshine, so along with regular walks around her neighborhood, CEECEE needs a secure fenced yard to run around and explore safely. While small in stature, doxies are big on personality and don't generally do well in apartments, with all of the noises and traffic that come with multiple dwellings in a confined space. To best set up our doxies and their new families for success, ODR, Inc., adopt to families who live in single family homes with secure fenced yards.
OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.
WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:
All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
Can you give CEECEE a happy, carefree life that she deserves? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net. The adoption committee will attempt to be in touch with you within 48 -72 hours. Please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
