Oliver Rhett's Story...
Oliver was born in the Catnip Cottage 10 years ago and named Rhett. He was adopted as a teen and lived with his adoptive human for the next decade. Unfortunately for a reason that we do not know, she gave Oliver, or "Ollie" as she called him to a friend. Her existing cats did not accept Ollie into their home and she brought him to a small shelter in rural NC after a few days. They found his microchip that The Catnip Cottage implanted and thanks to a couple of hard-working and kind-hearted people he was pulled from the shelter, fostered for a couple of weeks, vetted and returned to the Catnip Cottage. Oliver is a sweet natured, loving and gentle boy. He is in very good health and is very well-mannered.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oliver Rhett, a Summerville Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Summerville, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Summerville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Summerville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Summerville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Summerville paves the way for another one to be saved.
