Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Madeleine "Maddie" came to us as a stray from the Moreno Valley area. She is
approximately 10 or 11 years old. You can tell she has had a hard life and
not well loved and badly mistreated.
Her eyes show her age along with the stiffness in her legs. She has lost
most of her front teeth which gives her a endearing sweet old lady
expression. Once she truly trust you she is the sweetest dog ever and stays
by your side. She would do best in a quiet, calm home with someone home
with her. She is house trained and after years as an outside dog, she
loves being inside. She handles a doggy door like a champ.
She is not a cuddle or lap dog. Maddie does enjoy watching our pack play,
and tries to keep the younger dogs in line. She will still will flinch if
you surprise her or try to pet the top of her head. She also does not like
her collar or leash being jerked or yanked. That in itself tells us a little
bit of her past mistreatment. Most senior dogs do not make it out of the
shelters. Luckily BCIN has a soft spot for these sweet older dogs, and
takes in as many as we can. It will take someone who appreciates a senior's
past to adopt our special Maddie. She deserves to be spoiled and loved in
her golden years.
Please open your heart and home to adopting a senior. BCIN takes in more
than a fair share of the senior BCs, as it is fact that adoption rates in
the shelter are reduced significantly once a dog reaches 5 years of age.
BCIN was Maddie's only hope of making it out of the shelter and we gladly
welcomed her into our rescue program. Maddie will be adopted under our
Senior Program. This means we reduce our adoption fee significantly so that
she can find a loving home where she spend the rest of her golden years.
If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please go on line and fill out
an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file
before any meet and greets are scheduled. The electronic application can be
found on our website at
