My story

This sleek, handsome guy is Shadow, a 4-year-old solid black German Shepherd in need of a stable, loving home. Shadow walks well on leash, has his basic commands down pat, and loves to search and retrieve. He’s a willing and eager learner, and would be great for an active home, even dog sports. Shadow is good with other dogs but will also guard his food, toys and house, so a home with strong leadership skills, breed experience and, ideally, training experience, would benefit this 70-pounder. He is not comfortable with young children and cats, and is sensitive to thunderstorms, fireworks, and sirens. He does have a good temperament, and tolerated being lifted into the bath as well as his grooming very well. Typical of the breed, he is affectionate with his owners but aloof towards others. Shadow has gone through changes and instability in his life, but has excellent potential for the right handler and will make a wonderful companion. Please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website if you think you can provide Shadow with the kind of home he needs to flourish.

All Kiko dogs have been examined by a veterinarian, vaccinated, dewormed, tested for heartworm, sterilized, and require an adoption fee of $400 ($275 for senior dogs and $125 for cats) and an adoption contract.
