Dar's Story...
Dar and Maggie!
Dar  -  Black Female Kitten  -  4 mos.
Maggie  -   White and Grey Female Kitten  -  5  mos.

Dar and Maggie are two female kittens who have both been overlooked because of their shyness. Dar was one of the last of her litter to be rescued. So she was on her own at a tiny age and was extremely shy coming into us. She would hide when adopters would look at her brother and sister. She is now in a foster home with Maggie, another shy little girl and they have become BFF's.  Maggie had been adopted out with her sister in July and returned because she was hiding too much.

Maggie and Dar need a loving, patient home together that will help them adjust to their new environment. It will take them about a week of kind words and no pressure to feel safe and to get to know their new family.  One or two rooms to start in works best so they are not overwhelmed at first. Once you help them bridge that gap,  you will have two loving playful little kittens that chase each other and wrestle until they are exhausted! They will snuggle and purr when they are sleepy with you and each other.  They bunny hop and wiggle when it's meal time and will lead you into the feeding area.

Dar will hide and watch you as you do chores and will make you laugh with her many expressions. Maggie is like a beautiful little princess with her doe eyes and her calm nature.  She loves her little head rubbed and will sit up so you can reach her easier.

They both will shy away from loud noises and new people but depending on the  situation it is usually a short term situation.

Having an Ipad is recommended as they both love to play the fish, mouse and  butterfly cat games.  They love tissue paper to slide around in,  tiny soft mice to  chase and carry around,  scratching posts and cat trees to hide and nap in. Boxes work great and a blanket over some boxes and chairs gives them a few hours of entertainment as they hide and find each other in the maze you create.   They love to lay and nap in windows and watch the activity at the bird feeder.

They both get along with the 3 year old kitty in their foster home, so other friendly kitties are accepted by them.

Dar and Maggie are both spayed, litterbox trained, are up to date on vaccinations, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV. They would like to be adopted together!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dar, a Colmar Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Colmar, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Colmar.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Colmar already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Colmar breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Colmar paves the way for another one to be saved.
