Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Well, hello there. My name is STANLEY. I may not be flat like the literary character, but I definitely have some adventures under my collar. My foster mom thinks that I have put some miles on my paws. The high kill shelter in Southern Indiana thought that I was around 6 years old, but my Illinois vet thinks that I am probably closer to 10 to 12. I currently weigh 55 pounds and could probably afford a few more ounces stuck to my spine. There is a debate on what genres I am made up of, but the best guess is Labrador/ Chow Mix. There is something to be said about the classics! I am steady and calm and I don't require a ton of exercise like those young whippersnappers. I am very content having a comfy spot to lie and a soft blanket or person to cuddle. My foster mom thinks that I may have spent most of my years being an outside dog, but I am sure learning the luxury of indoor living! My gentle, easy going demeanor makes me ideal for a family of any age. I do not demand a lot of attention, but I do enjoy affection when it is bestowed on me. I get along well with the other dogs in my foster home. I will romp and play in the yard for a while, but then you will find me relaxing on my favorite spot on the couch. It seems that I am housebroken. I do have to admit that I am not crazy about my crate, though. Luckily, my accident free record and great house manners have earned me little kennel time. I can be quite endearing. I have this cute little habit of putting my chin on your leg while you are eating. I am not obnoxious, but I will look up at you with the softest, pleading eyes. I will move to each member of the family and once I realize that no one is going to fall for my adorable begging, I go and lie down. I take treats extremely nice and have shown no sign of aggression with toys or food. I don't always come when I am called, so my foster family is still trying to figure out if I am hard of hearing or if it is just selective. I love to go for car rides and pretty much expect to sit shotgun. I absolutely hate bathes and will do anything to make the torture stop! If you are looking for a laid back companion with a lot of spunk, please call Jen at 630-801-3294 and ask about me, STANLEY. Hurry so we can write some adventures of our own together! The adoption fee for Stanley is $50 and includes his recent neuter, dental and up to date vaccinations.
