~ABOUT ME~

Hi! I'm Lenny! I was found abandoned with my brother, Squiggy, in a mobile home. Our owner had been gone for a while. We were covered in mats, feces and fleas. I was brown when they found me! Luckily someone heard our cries and contacted animal control. They rescued us and contacted P.O.E.T. We are SO thankful! We got cleaned up, flea treatments, neutered, all our shots and are already feeling SO much better.

I am a bit more confident than my brother. I am also the more vocal of the two. I am a bit of a talker. I just LOVE attention. I would love to stay with my brother, but it is not required. I am crate trained and working on housebreaking (understandable given where I came from). I am about 2 years old and walk well on leash. I an a social guy and would do well in most homes.

If you think you are my forever family please complete an application online at www.poetanimalrescue.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lenny, a Garden City Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Garden City, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Garden City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Garden City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Garden City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Garden City paves the way for another one to be saved.
