Rachel's Story...
Say hello to Rachel!

Rachel and her siblings were part of a very irresponsible (And sad) social media add where they were being sold for $20 each. They were in very bad shape - thin and loaded with parasites. One of our volunteers saw this post and that is how they came to be a part of The Fort. They have since flourished in foster care and are truly some of the sweetest puppies!

Rachel is more back than her siblings, and likes to sit back and take everything in. But she won't turn down an opportunity to cuddle (As you can see from the picture).

Rachel was born on 4/24/15 and weighs 30.7lbs. She has been fully vaccinated, dewormed and is current on heartworm/flea/tick preventative. She is being spayed and microchipped next week.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rachel, a Asheboro Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Asheboro, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Asheboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Asheboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Asheboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Asheboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
