Elmer's Story...
"My name is ELMER, and I'm a one-year-old Jack Russell Terrier/ Chihuahua mix who's a happy little love. I'm good-natured, friendly, and tenderhearted. I get along great with other dogs, and I'd be a wonderful family pet in a home where the kids are older and very considerate of me. When the staff here at the El Cajon Animal Shelter takes me out to the play yard, I run around at light speed, and they can't help but smile. I have lots of fun going on walks and playing in the yard, but my favorite activity will be sitting on your lap and snuggling. The staff is pretty sure that I've already been house trained, and I'm looking forward to learning all kinds of new things in my new home. I miss the devoted love of a kind person, so I sure hope I get adopted soon. Won't you please come visit me ? I know that I can bring joy into your heart, and I promise to be your loyal, ever-loving companion. Love, Elmer" Kennel #9

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elmer, a El Cajon Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
