My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Addie is a 3 year old, 65 lb. pit bull/American bulldog mix and is a complete sweetheart! Addie does not have a single mean bone in her body and absolutely LOVES everyone she meets-any age. She never discriminates; Addie loves her vet, shelter volunteers, her foster parents, jaywalkers, truck drivers, her neighborhood kids, you name it! They all get that big, adorable smile, jet-fast tail wagging, and giant kiss.

Addie's interest in people makes her the perfect housemate. She's very attentive to her foster parents and really wants to please. She's house and crate trained, knows sit, down, paw, and stay. Addie has been learning leash manners and is great when there are no distractions! She even makes a great running partner. Since she is 65lb of muscle and super strong, she will need an adopter to continue leash training with her so she doesn’t forget there's a human behind her on that leash when she gets excited.

In addition to being well trained, Addie loves playing fetch, loves the car, and loves baths. Addie loves play time, but also settles down quickly and is the best cuddler! She's just a big love and lives for attention.

Addie has lived with a smaller dog and has had foster siblings of all sizes! She gets along well with other dogs with proper introductions. As for cats, Addie thinks they are like toys, so she probably would do best in a cat-less family.

Addie is being fostered in Medford, Ma.

The adoption fee is $300.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
