Meghan is a beautiful 15 month old black and tan Cavalier. She is also an alpha girl that loves to be the center of attention. She came to Cavalier Alliance because she was guarding food, treats, toys, and at times, the people in her life. Since in foster care Meghan has worked through these issues and has been a very sweet and loving dog. She is scheduled for her spay on March 9th. It is our assessment that Meghan did not do well in her former situation because she was competing with other intact females. She is currently in a quiet home with two calm and easy-going Cavaliers; both altered. Meghan follows them throughout the house and can often be found snuggled up with them on a doggy bed or the foster mom’s office chair. Meghan is healthy, up-to-date on vaccines and has had her heart and eyes checked by specialists. She is crate trained, great on a leash and loves to ride in the car. She also enjoys a shopping excursion to Lowes and Home Depot to lend a helping paw in the decorating decision making process. Our recommendation for Meghan is a quiet home with another friendly Cavalier or small dog. A fenced yard would be ideal as she has enjoyed running and playing in the yard and snow! We are looking for someone who will continue to reinforce Meghan’s good behavior and understand that she is an alpha girl.
