Hi there, my name is Sophia! I'm a young poodle, and was found as a stray, pregnant and covered with all sorts of icky fleas and sore spots. Thankfully, my friends at NBS knew how to treat a nervous new mom like myself with love, compassion and respect. They have helped me build up some confidence, and showed me that humans can actually be very kind. I had two puppies in rescue, and I have been a very good momma to them. Also, I have aplayed really well with the cat and other dogs too. Although my puppies are very cute, I hope I will find a home of my very own some day too. Did you know that I am only about a year old? You should know that I have just as much puppy play as the little ones do! Sometimes, I just get soooooo happy, that I run as fast as she can all around the house, just because! Although I can be shy sometimes, especially when meeting new people. However, if you have a little bit of patience, and know how to give a good belly rub? You have a best friend for life.
My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. Not all of my friends here at NBS Animal Rescue have the same requirements, so if I’m not be the perfect fit for your family- be sure to check out my other doggy friends too!
1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.
3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
