Pilgrim's Story...
Pilgrim got himself into some trouble on the Rez. He was hungry and thought that getting into the dumpster, at the reservation landfill, to look for food was a good idea. That is.. until he could not get himself out. The only way he got out alive is to have a resident call Lightshine Rescue! One of their rescue partners, 'Pete', jumped into the dumpster to get Pilgrim out. Pilgrim is one lucky pup today! He was vaccinated and transported to CMACC for adoption. Currently being fostered. If your would like to meet Pilgrim please let us know. Maybe you could adopt him, and proudly say, "I am the proud owner of a rescued Rez. dog"!

Photo is Pilgrim while inside the dumpster trying to be strong while awaiting rescuers.

Please call for more information, or to donate to the rescue efforts of Lightshine Rescue.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pilgrim, a Sauk Rapids Australian Cattle Dog/Clumber Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog/Clumber Spaniel for sale in Sauk Rapids, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog/Clumber Spaniel dog from a breeder in Sauk Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sauk Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sauk Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog/Clumber Spaniel breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog/Clumber Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sauk Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
