My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

14 year old, silver dapple smooth coat

Hello, my name is Oscar! I’m the nicest long dog you’ll ever meet! As you can see from my photograph, I’m a very handsome fellow and pretty spry for a 14 year old!  I should also mention that like most seniors, I do have some health concerns.  I am blind in one eye and I don’t see so good out of the other either.  I have old man hearing but do respond to my name and clapping hands. My nose is AWESOME!  When I went to the vet, he said I have a grade 2/3 heart murmur and a low grade chronic infection where my canine teeth used to be. My foster mom puts me on antibiotics every so often to clean that up. Other than that, I’m in pretty good shape!  Of course I am neutered and up-to-date on all my shots too!

I had a wonderful, loving home with my two-legged mom until she became ill and went to a new home where people could take care of her.  Unfortunately, she couldn’t take me along so I came to live at Camp Senior Wiener with some new friends. I love to walk in the nice weather, sit in the sunshine, sleep under the blankets and go for car rides.  I can bust a mean move and sing for my dinner too!  I don’t really like to be by myself and my foster mom says I have a BIG howl voice so I shouldn’t live in an apartment or condo. I’m just a handsome, senior male searching for a loving family of my own – young or old, big or small, I don’t discriminate! – Oscar

Oscar may be a senior however he is still quite spry! He doesn’t ask for much – a walk here and there, a comfy blanket and some yummy food! He's honestly one of the sweetest little dogs you'll ever meet. He gets along great with other dogs and cats! He's housetrained too! Please consider offering this loving little man a place to retire – he still has a lot of greats years ahead of him, with lots of great love to give!
