And now a few words from me:
Hi! My name is Charlie and my foster mom says I am a VERY cute dachshund. Sometimes I think she gets confused because she also calls me a chicken and a scaredy-cat, whatever those are. I am very shy around strangers and it takes me awhile to trust you, but once I do, watch out! I love to cuddle and give kisses, but I have a lot of energy so I also need to play and go for long walks. I am still working on my leash manners, but I am getting better every day.
My stubbornness comes out when I don’t want to go for a walk or when I am scared on the walk, I’ll just lie down and refuse to move. I am very young so I need humans who have the time to work with me and teach me how to be a great doggy citizen. They will also need to help me be more consistent with my commands. I know what most of them mean, like off and sit, but I can be a little stubborn.
I am completely crate trained and that is where I sleep and stay when you are away. Though I have to say I’d much rather sleep in the big bed with my humans. I would also love the run of the house, but my previous owner said I use to get into everything. Though, my foster family has not seen my curiosity get me into trouble. I am also housetrained and pee-pad trained, but hey I’m a dachshund so accidents happen. I have a lot of love and smiles to give and I cannot wait to have a family of my very own!
Love,
Charlie
