My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Although we make the best guess on the breed and size of our dogs, because they come from shelters, we can never be completely certain of the genetic makeup of the dog. All we can tell you for sure is that they are 100% RESCUED! If an animal is still posted for adoption, he/she is still available.

Hi, my name is Sally. I'm very friendly, playful, confident, and love everyone. I'm an owner surrender from Kentucky when I was just 3 weeks old because my mom was hit by a car. The owner never said what breed (s) mom was so my rescue is just guessing. I arrived with my siblings Smitty, Jedi and Sweet Pea on August 8th and were bottled fed for awhile until I was able to eat solid food. We were born around 7-18-15. As of 9/23/15, I weigh about 5 1/2 pounds. So given my current weight and age, my rescue thinks I will grow to be between 15-25 pounds, but that it's also just an estimate. I love other dogs, even cats, love children, but given how small I am, a home with children over 5 would be best. I love running around the backyard, but I'm small and can get through any gaps in the fence. So a secure fence will be needed if you have one. Best guess on my genetic make is Dachshund, maybe Chihuahua, but I won't be tiny like a Chihuahua given my current weight.

Puppies have special needs and require a home where there will be someone available to care for, socialize, and train them during the day. If your family is away from the home all day, a puppy isn't the right match for you.

If you would like to meet this animal or anyone else, please fill out the on-line adoption application at www.angelsonwheels.org and the foster will be in touch within 7 days once the application is processed and if approved! Keep in mind that there may be multiple applicants applying for the same animal(s). You only need to complete 1 application for multiple animals that you're interested in. It's advised to submit an application immediately if your interested in meeting this pet. Emails will slow down the process, and while you are awaiting an email response, which can take several days, we may get applications. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but is required prior to making arrangements for a meet and greet as all of our animals are cared for in homes. We can't schedule meet and greets until the application is submitted and approved. We don't have a building so there are no viewing hours. All of our animals are cared for in foster homes by wonderful families who volunteer their time to save these precious souls. We are sorry but we can't do out of state adoptions on puppies who are not yet fixed, and instate adoptions must live within 1 hour of one of our vets located in Joliet, Glen Ellyn, Yorkville, Oswego and Naperville.

.
We are all volunteers and work as quickly as possible between jobs and family, and we thank you in advance for your patience. Sally is my name, being adorable is my game. I'm hoping to join a family who needs a dog to love them and cuddle with them on the couch. Is that you? I hope so.

The adoption fee is $300 and includes the neuter/spaying which will be done when a little older (around 5 months), but paid for by the rescue if through one of our participating vets, and a spay deposit will be required, , and you will receive a spay/coupon for that, up to date on routine vaccination for DHPP puppy vaccination, microchip, deworming with panacur, received Revolution for the preventation of fleas and heartworm, and your 1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and any other medical.

We must have an application, sometimes a home visit, reference checked including the vet of current and/or past cats and/or dogs, to approve an application. At the meet and greet, we will need to meet all members of the family including any four legged doggies in your home to assure everyone gets alone. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.
