Winston's Story...
Take just one look at me and you’ll come runnin’! I am an adorable Coton de Tulear mix bursting with joy. I am playful and spunky—sweet with a little spice! I am unsure of strangers at first, and I really do love attention and affection, but boy-oh-boy can I get so excited and overstimulated by the smallest thing…learning a little impulse control would go a long way! I do enjoy the company of other dogs, and I get so excited to play! Meeting the kitty cat, well that got me so excited I just couldn’t contain myself! Crate training I do find to be a bit of a bore, but I can respect what a great step in training it is. Heaven to me? Well, that would be a home with kids 12+ where I will get plenty of training and have a person who will give me lots of attention, all the time! Doesn’t that sound exciting?! 2 years old-16lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes microchip & registration, neuter, reduced-cost training class, 1 month pet health insurance, free veterinary exam, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Winston, a Portland Coton de Tulear/Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Coton de Tulear/Maltese for sale in Portland, or seeking a Coton de Tulear/Maltese dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Coton de Tulear/Maltese breeders who help with Coton de Tulear/Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
