Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Shakespeare (Shakey) is a 3 year old, male, full blooded Bichon. He is neutered, healthy, up to date on shots and fully vet checked and titer tested. he is house trained (But needs some reinforcement overnight). He is very sweet and friendly, but a little timid for the first few hours when first meeting you . He gets along with dogs, cats, kids and adults.
His owner moved overseas and her elderly mother was caring for him, but it is just too much for her. She did not have a fenced in yard and did not walk him frequently enough so he has had a few accidents in her house. He needs a home with a fenced in yard so he can go outside for frequent potty breaks. He also loves to go for walks on a leash. loves to sleep in bed with you and lay right next to you with his head on your arm or leg or chest or just curl up at your feet! We prefer a home where someone is home most of the day or only works part time so they can give him frequent potty breaks and companionship. We prefer a home with at least one other dog as he is more comfortable with a doggie companion for those times you do have to leave and go out or go to work. (If left all alone he will howl and bark, so having another dog or dogs is best for him) We prefer a fenced in yard, but will adopt to someone without it with the understanding that he should be walked for potty at least 4-5 times a day and you also may need to put a belly band on him for overnight or times you are gone more than 3 or 4 hours. His previous owner cut his hair very short due to him being matted, but his hair will soon grow back to it's beautiful Bichon length in no time.
