Facts about Nikita

  • Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier Mix
  • Color: White - With Black
  • Age: Senior
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 078
Nikita is a 12 year old spayed female white and black-brindle pit bull. Nikita came to the shelter through no fault of her own. Her owners were no longer capable of caring for her so Nikita has found herself in our care. Nikita still has a lot of energy and will need a bit of extra training to help curb all that excited energy. We recommend that she goes to a home without dogs or cats. She would do fine in a home with older children(8+) since she could accidentally hurt a small child when she gets excited. Nikita would like to spend her golden years in a home and being loved; not at the shelter where she is extremely stressed out.

About Colonial Heights Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

We are the animal shelter for the City of Colonial Heights. We enforce animal laws, pick up stray and injured animals and get vet care for them when needed.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our shelter is open Monday through Friday from 9am until 3pm and on Saturday from 9am until 12pm.

Our Adoption Process...

To adopt from our shelter you must fill out an adoption application so that we can make sure that the pet is a good fit for you and your family. There is a $10 fee that is paid to the city along with a fee for the animal to be spay/neutered. If the animal is not spay/neutered when you adopt it you must sign a contract stating that you will have the pet spay/neutered.
