Howdy, my name is Tepper. I am a male Beagle mix and I’m approximately five months old. I am such a well behaved and active puppy. I immediately took to using a doggie door and bell system at a regular door when I want to go outside. I am used to a fenced yard with very little grass, mostly rocks and brush, which I love to explore through. I do not chew on anything, well except the two-year-old beagle that lives with my foster family but it’s because I love to play. I’m teething so I nip and chew and keep the two-year-old beagle very active. He plays and does the same back to me.
I know how to sit on command and understand the word “no” when a firm voice is used. I am still learning how to share the food bowl and snacks with the other dog. I am starting to understand that food is available when I need it, and I don’t have to eat everything in one bite. I love the older children that live in my foster home and they love me back. I love to snuggle in bed and if you have another dog I want to sleep with them. I enjoy going on walks and do a good job, though I do pull but that’s normal because I have a beagle nose.
I am great riding in the car. I have long legs so please remember to push in your chairs and barstools or I may be too curious. Thunderstorms do not seem to bother me. I do not bark much. It’s probably because the dog I live with doesn’t bark too much either. He barks at people walking by, but I usually don’t bother and let him do all the work. If I bark you’ll know it because it’s a loud hound bark and only seems to come out when other dogs bark too. I really love all treats. You can’t go wrong with buying me those. I sometimes pretend to bury them in the corner or behind a pillow. Occasionally, I may dig outside but it’s only because I want to save my treat for later.
I will walk into a crate if you need me to but I will howl for a bit, especially if I know you are still around. Unless I’m playing with my roommate, we like to take naps together. I love to lie in the sun both indoors and out. If you’ll let me, I’ll chill on your couch to cool off.
I am the first foster dog my humans have taken in and they say I’m an easy first experience because I’m so well behaved for being so young and after going through so much. Don’t tell them I know this but they like me so much they wish they could keep me! That’s how adorable I am!
