My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

COURTESY LISTING - This dog is not in foster care with BAPBR and we make no guarantees about his/her health or temperament. We are providing a service to the Del Norte County Animal Shelter to help with adoption. If you are interested in adopting this dog please contact the shelter directly - their info is below.

Have you ever seen such a tiny peanut of a Pit Bull-type dog? Don’t pass up this lovely 9-year old “elder-belle”, Merlot. This little lady has so much to offer! She has the perfect amount of spunk and spirit for a busy household and constantly expresses gratitude and love through her eyes. Has your heart melted yet?

Merlot is also extremely affectionate and loves to be your shadow. She bonds quickly to her people, but does not enjoy the company of other dogs or cats. However, Merlot does enjoy being social in other settings. Whenever she is out and about, people come from all directions and ask to pet and meet her!

Merlot would be a great new addition to just about any family—she absolutely loves to snuggle, give kisses, help make dinner, accompany you as an errand-runner, and act as a space heater in your bed—she’s incredibly easy going and accommodating to your needs. She only asks for love and care in return.

Are you ready to meet this precious little “elder-belle”? She’s ready to meet you! Contact us today to see if she could be The One for you.

Born Again Pit Bull Rescue regularly works with the wonderful volunteers at the Del Norte County Animal Control Shelter located out in rural Crescent City, CA (a small coastal town on the OR/CA border). They have a very small shelter with small indoor 3x6 kennel runs, low foot traffic, odd adoption viewing hours and it rains a lot which means the dogs can’t always come outside to play -- so we want you to see some of their really great dogs that they have up for adoption -- it's only a short 5-hour drive from Portland to adopt your new family member!

Del Norte County Animal Control is located in Crescent City, CA. They are open Monday – Friday from 8am to 5pm. They are closed Saturday and Sunday.

Address: 2650 Washington Blvd - Crescent City, CA 95531

Shelter phone: (707) 464-7235
