*~* In addition to socialization and exercise outside the home, Bruce requires a home with an enclosed yard that will provide plenty of space for exercise. *~*

Bruce is a male German Shepherd/Great Dane mix only 18 months old. He is a big boy, currently weighing 70 pounds. He should fill out a bit more and reach his adult ideal weight of 80 - 85 pounds. Bruce has a soft tan coat with vivid black markings and adorable floppy ears. He is absolutely excellent with children, families, company, and other dogs. He is social and friendly with an amusing puppyish disposition. Bruce is highly intelligent and very trainable. He knows sit on command and is rapidly learning other obedience skills. Bruce also jogs wonderfully on leash, staying to one side and running along beside you. He is an athletic boy and will thrive in an active home with someone who likes outdoor activities, hiking, jogging, dog beach, etc. He loves life and it shows. He is an enthusiastic participant in just about everything! Bruce would be thrilled to have another big dog in the home to play with, but he doesn't necessarily need it if he has kids to romp around with and fun places to go. Bruce is not recommended for small children because he is quite large and will knock them over. Bruce rides well in the car and is always up for anything. He has a goofy, affectionate side that will grab at your heart strings. He tries very hard to please and do the right thing. Bruce was brought in stray to a very high-volume/high-kill shelter where we rescued him. He is healthy, robust, and ready for his fun new forever loving home today!

Bruce’s adoption donation is $425 (*TAX DEDUCTABLE). He has been NEUTERED, MICROCHIPPED, VACCINATED, DEWORMED, DEFLEAED and PROFESSIONALLY GROOMED. Also included is his collar with ID, harness, leash, folder with all of his records, a great PETCO coupon book, and a fun goodie bag with toys, etc.

Bruce is being fostered by Pet Match Rescue Foster Volunteer, Cecilia and is ready for his forever home.

You may meet and apply to adopt Bruce at our ADOPTION EVENT on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 1st from 12 Noon - 3:00 at PETCO in NEWPORT BEACH located at 1280 Bison Ave., Newport Beach, CA 92660. adoptpetmatch@gmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

BRUCE, a Newport Beach German Shepherd Dog/Great Dane dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Great Dane for sale in Newport Beach, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Great Dane dog from a breeder in Newport Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newport Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newport Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Great Dane breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newport Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
