My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Once you meet her, you will love her.

Candy is a sweet little lady who was turned into a local shelter when her owner passed away. One of our fosters spotted Candy's sweet and happy face, and couldn’t leave her behind.

Candy is about 8 years old; mostly house trained; crate trained; and walks well on a leash. While she does well with most dogs, small dogs in particular, we suspect she would prefer to be the only dog in the home.

Candy's favorite thing is just to hang out with her human. She’s one of those dogs that just loves to be held and will just sit quietly in your arms. She even does a little hop when you pick her up.

Candy has very mild heart murmur. If she overexerts herself or gets overly excited, she starts to cough. So, she should probably remain on a low sodium diet. She would do best in a low energy home where she can live out the rest of her days loving and being loved.

Candy had a very large inguinal hernia that has been repaired and she has been spayed. She also had a luxating patella (i.e. dislocated kneecap) which has been repaired. The only thing she needs now is her forever home!
