Abbott's Story...
Meet Abbott! He is an absolute delight of a cat that is looking for his loving forever home. Abbott came to us without use of his back legs. Imaging showed that he had an old injury that was recovering. Under the expert care of our veterinary staff and with some rest, he has greatly improved and is now able to walk like a champ. He has some arthritis in the left hip and this is something your vet will need to monitor. Abbott is a total sweetheart who loves to be pet. He enjoys rubbing up against your legs and likes to be the center of attention. Given Abbott's background, he needs a quiet home that will give him the time he needs to continue to heal. Abbott is fairly comfortable around other cats and can live with a mellow cat that won't overwhelm him. He needs a home without any dogs because they might be too rough on him. Abbott is a really gentle boy who needs a home with older children or adults only. If you are looking for an absolutely fabulous cat and are interested in meeting Abbott, please come to the front to fill out an adoption application so you can spend some quality time with him today.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abbott, a Bellingham Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
