Hi there. My name is Abby. I'm 7 years old and I weigh a dismal 29 lbs... No, that isn't a typo, I'm a large sized Labrador Retriever mix and I only weighed 29 lbs when I was seized by the pound.
I was seized by the pound along with 2 other dogs. Our owner moved out and left us in his daughter's care... but as you might have guessed there wasn't much care happening. My owner did sign us over so I can find placement now and won't have to wait here at the shelter until after court like a lot of dogs do.
I am a VERY sweet and loving girl. I am so friendly and forgiving with people. I may have been starved and neglected, but I still totally love people.
I am good with other dogs, but I AM food aggressive with other dogs (for obvious reasons) so I need to find a place that will keep me separated from other animals while I am eating.
I am also heartworm positive on top of everything else so I need a rescue or private that can either pay to have me treated or at least help the pound out with my finances.
I appear to be in good health. I have been given my Parvo/ Distemper vaccine and I have been dewormed with panacur dewormer.
PLEASE CONSIDER THIS DOG, AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER DOGS AT OUR SHELTER AS URGENT. OUR KENNEL SPACE HERE AT THE POUND IS VERY LIMITED. THIS DOG COULD BE EUTHANIZED WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE ANY TIME AFTER SEPTEMBER 26, 2015.
HERE AT THE COLUMBIANA COUNTY DOG POUND, WE TRY VERY HARD TO PLACE ALL OF OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS IN TO LOVING HOMES OR SEND THEM TO GREAT, APPROVED RESCUE GROUPS, HOWEVER, WE CAN ONLY KEEP OUR DOGS HERE AT THE POUND AS LONG AS SPACE ALLOWS.
MY ADOPTION FEE IS $110 CASH, WHICH COVERS MY SPAY SURGERY (WHICH MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO ME LEAVING THE SHELTER), MY PARVO/DISTEMPER VACCINE, RABIES VACCINE, DEWORMING AND MY CURRENT OHIO DOG LICENSE WHICH WILL BE HONORED THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF OHIO.
THE POUND IS OPEN MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 8 AM- 4 PM AND SATURDAY FROM 9 AM- 12 PM. WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS.
