My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LEXI is a 2 year old spayed black female Lab who weighs 41 pounds. She is a super sweet, petite girl. She is having fun at her foster and loving the other dogs. She is young and will need some training and patience but will give lots of joy in return. Lexi is good and quiet in her crate. She is easy on leash and a good rider. Lexi likes to play with other dogs. No cat history. Lexi is approved for kids ages 10+.

Update (11/10): Lexi's Spiel:
Good morning everyone! Well it seems the weatherman here hasn't quite gotten the forecast correct. It is still raining here in Lynchburg and it's cold outside. It's nice to not be a stray anymore and have a warm home, food to eat, toys to play with and love and attention. I've been telling everyone I'm 10 months old but actually I'm 11 months old. Foster Mom actually looked on a calendar last night and asked me about it. I wagged my tail at her and smiled.
So, my name is Lexi and I'm 11 months old. I'm working on getting on a few pounds but should weigh close to 50. I'm healthy and I love to play. I'm still learning some house manners but the countertops seem to have all the good smelling foody type stuff on them. I love chew bones and toys. We play a game here where we collect all the chew bones. One bone is never enough! But when Reese comes over, I let her take whatever bone she wants. We also play fangy face and chase each other and wrestle. Every now and then Jackson and I get crated because we don't know when to stop. (Foster Mom calls us crazy kids.) We usually will crash and charge up for the next time.
I do love cuddle time too. I will come up to you and do a major lab lean. Foster Mom says that it is like I'm trying to become part of you because I press so tightly against you. I love ear scratches, butt scratches and belly rubs and will melt into a puddle on the floor.
Foster Mom says my perfect family is out there but they just haven't found me yet. I ride in the car like a charm, walk well on leash (only some pulling), crate trained, house trained and very loving. So if you are looking for a sweet, playful, loving little girl that cherishes human attention but loves to play and romp, I'm your girl . Call your Adoption Coordinator and come meet me!
Love,
Lexi

Update (10/30): Lexi is enjoying playing with Mack and the other dogs at her foster, but she really would love a family to call her own! She is a spunky little tomboy of a girl who likes to play and tumble with Mack and the other dogs at her foster. She is housebroken and great in her crate. She will have a training addendum as she is still a youngster but she is so very smart and a quick learner so training will be fun!

Update (10/28): Lexi is still doing great in her foster. She is a petite little powerhouse of fun. She loves to romp and play and especially likes wrestling with Mack. She can settle inside and has nice house and crate manners. She is young and energetic but eager to please. Don't pass this little sweetie up!

Update (10/16): Lexi is making great strides at her foster. She is a typical young puppy girl that sometimes like to get a little wound up. She plays rough and tumble with Mack, because he lets her, but she can play nicely with the other dogs also. She is very treat driven so that is working well with her training. She can be a little barky in her crate, but only when she sees her foster and wants her attention. Otherwise she is very good and quiet, although, being a puppy, she will chew bedding still. Lexi has learned that barking loudly at her foster while she is in her crate will not increase her chances of being let out. She is smart :) She sits when told and she is doing well with hand feeding too- eats slower and likes the interaction. Lexi is a great , petite little gal that is coming along nicely but will still need some training as she is young!
