Important Note

Tara is best friends with Tucker. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
Hello, I'm Tara. That's an Irish name you know, and in Gaelic it means "Queen." I must say I feel quite queenly and dignified these days in my golden years. I'm sad to say my former family didn't treat me like a queen, and they abandoned my son, Tucker, and me at a boarding kennel after we got caught playing too rough with the neighbor's chickens. Really, those chickens were impossible to resist! We were later moved to a different boarding kennel where we were attacked by a couple of really big and scary dogs and I was injured protecting my son. We couldn't wait to get out of there! We're much happier where we are living now. I'm slowing down a bit and I tend to stumble if I walk too fast, but I still love going for walks. The doc tells me I have a condition that affects my rear legs, but I don't feel any pain. I sometimes need the help of a rear harness to support my hind legs when I walk.

I'm a super affectionate, gentle and laid-back kind of gal, and I'm crazy in love with people of all ages. As a dog, who also happens to be a mom, I know a thing or two about unconditional love! I'm completely devoted to my people and my son. My favorite things are going for leisurely walks (I tremble with excitement when I see my harness and leash), hanging out with friends and family, and lounging on a comfy blanket in the sun chewing on a bone or bully stick. I'm not so crazy about other dogs, except my boy Tucker, though I pretty much ignore them, as long as they mind their own business and stay outta my personal space, if you know what I mean. I also do not care for cats, birds or other critters, so it's best I not share a home with them.

If you're looking for a couple of unconditional love bugs, we're the pair for you! We prefer to be the only pets in the home and we need a secure fenced yard to keep us safe. We promise to bring you so much joy and tons of kisses, you won't need anyone else. Please come for a visit real soon. We'd love to meet you!

About Canine Miracle Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Canine Miracle Rescue is a small 501c3 non-profit rescue dedicated to saving the lives of dogs whose time has run out at local shelters. We believe homeless animals deserve a second chance. Our rescue dogs are either housed at an 18 acre country property affectionately known as "Rascal Flats" near Cottage Grove, OR or in foster homes. We also assist families in crisis with help re-homing their dogs through networking, outreach and partnership with other rescues, and/or providing temporary housing for their dogs if we have space. Canine Miracle Rescue includes two professional dog trainers with more than 20 years experience in animal behavior and training, and a few dedicated volunteers that help us train and socialize our rescue dogs. Our mission is saving lives, one dog at a time.
