Colby's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Colby's Story...
My name is Colby and I’m a 2 year old male black lab. I was severely abused and suffer (like most soldiers) from post traumatic stress disorder. I was abandoned in a cemetery and left to die. I know my basic commands, am house broken and well behaved. I need an experience dog owner. I’m scared of busy streets so wouldn’t do good living in a busy city or near a busy street. I’d do best in a low-keyed home with adults. I am good with other dogs and cats. I have a difficult time with crates as something terrible must have been done to me in one. I have had experience dog training and interested potential adopters can meet with my trainer.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Colby, a Medford Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Medford, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Medford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Medford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Medford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Medford paves the way for another one to be saved.
