Snoopy's Story...
Male - Blk/Wht - 1 year old 10#s Snoopy is as cute of a purebred Shihtzu as you will ever find. He has a hard time sitting for photograghs though, so you may have to use your imagination a little with regards to his face. He is very adorable, and just needs someone who will show him some patience. He has some issues if you come at him too quickly, he will act as if he is going to bite, but just nips, and never breaks the skin. He was rescued from a shelter who received him from a family who said he had seizures, and wanted him put down (which he does but he is now on medication, which is easy to give him twice a day, and has not had a seizure since we have had him.) He has had blood work and other lab work, which indicates that he is healthy otherwise, and he is now on the right meds, and may only need to be on them for a year! Anyway, he is just too cute, and cuddley to let him go. An Adoption Application is required - send EMAIL request to: loripasch@yahoo.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Snoopy, a Downey Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Downey, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Downey.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Downey already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Downey breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Downey paves the way for another one to be saved.
