Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Name: Calvin
Age: 3 years old
Breed/Weight: Manchester Terrier, 20 pounds
Disability: Hearing impairment/equilibrium issues, Calvin was scheduled to be euthanized the day we rescued him.
Many past untreated ear infections has left Calvin with bi lateral ear problems, his eardrums are completely closed, and scar tissue has formed which results in a condition called "cauliflower ear." After consultations with several specialists, dermatology, neurology and radiologist, they are all in agreement - Calvin will need a TECA, Total Ear Canal Ablation.
UPDATE! Calvin rebounded quickly from his surgery as if nothing ever happened, he is truly has been one of the most amazing patients we have ever had here at PWD. Just a good sport, 20 pounds of pure happiness, tail wagging, loves the dogs but truly would love a shoulder or lap to call his own! He loves to cuddle with humans, and melts in anyone's arms, or just happy to lay on a cozy dog bed. He still has some equilibrium issues, so he will always have a unique and funny gait but otherwise, he is a very normal and now healthy dog. He has handled his life like a champ. He is very alert knows the routine of the rescue, goes up and down stairs and spends most of his days in my office.
As always - each of our dogs could use their own angels... please consider sponsoring Calvin
