Just looking at our Bernie makes us smile. We call him our “Mad Scientist”….scroll through the pics and you will know why! Bernie was rescued from the local shelter a couple of months ago, and we estimate his age at 1.5 - 2 yrs. No way could we leave THAT face there! This boy has been in foster for a few weeks now, learning some manners. Bernie is getting along fine with the other dogs in the home, and also is doing OK with the cat – although he would chase it if the cat ran. He is living with children in the foster home, too. Bernie is crate trained and uses the doggy door – no accidents in the house. When no one is home he is crated, as he does have some puppy type energy and can be a bit mischievous. Bernie is a real lover – he craves attention. He could still use some training and leash manners, simple stuff, and we can help with that since we provide free training classes! Bernie would truly make a wonderful indoor companion for an active family. All staff members are volunteers and are not compensated for their time and expenses. Many of our volunteers juggle family, and full-time careers while volunteering at Saving Paws. Please be patient as sometimes it takes up to 5 days to process an application.
