Jordan's Story...
I’m handsome Jordan, and I’m everyone best friend. I love people and felines alike. Here at the FOHA communal cattery, I’m known for working my magic, calming other kitties who are just getting used to being at a shelter. That was my job at the county shelter where I lived before coming to FOHA. If cats were stressed or concerned, I would be put in the cage next to them, as I give off calming vibes – my special meow-meow mojo. Here at FOHA, we don’t live in cages – we’re all roommates. Lots of the shy cats hang out in the loft or in high places, and I will go and spend time with each of them, letting them know that now they are safe. Here at FOHA, we don’t have to worry about “running out of time”. We get to live here, cared for by FOHA staff and volunteers, until our special people come to find us. With my gentle demeanor and my handsome looks, I know that the purr-fect family will find me. Until they do, I have plenty of work to do here, helping the other cats gain confidence and learn to trust.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jordan, a Aldie Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
