My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bow came to HART from a hoarding situation in Kentucky. He is about 12 months old, weighs 19.2 pounds, and has amber eyes to match the tan in his coat. He is a dark brown over tan color with a bit of white on his chest and feet. He is believed to be a mix of beagle and dachshund. He is medium active, and a happy go-lucky fun loving dog.

Bow is an outgoing and fun loving dog, only shy of new locations. He is presently in a foster home with another HART dog (Stern) from the hoarding situation and 4 other dogs. He does well with other dogs if introduced properly. He does love to wrestle with Stern and the other dogs that will play with him. He and Stern will run and wrestle for over an hour until they are worn out. He’d enjoy a house with another dog that is active and has a fenced yard. He has also been introduced to a cat at the vet’s office and was not a problem but that has a lot to do with the cat’s behavior. If the cat would run I’m sure he’d chase it because he loves to run. Bow is a very fast dog and would probably do well with agility training. Bow is an affectionate dog that loves attention. He will sleep on your lap and will curls up alongside of you in bed.

Bow is pretty close to being house trained; he has only had accidents if I take too long to let him out in the morning. He is relatively quiet, only whines for few minute if put in a crate, although he does get a little excited running the fence with neighbors dogs.

If interested in two dogs, his foster partner, Stern is a great match that would provide hours of entertainment in the back yard chasing and wrestling.

Bow has all his shots, is micro-chipped, crate trained and mostly house trained. He has been sleeping in the foster’s bed with the rest of the pack and sleeps through the night nestled close to my side. He only chews occasionally. I do let him run free in the house (kitchen and Family room with my dogs) while away at work without any ill effects. Bow is looking for a forever home!
