Marvin Gaye's Story...
How sweet is is to be loved by Marvin Gaye!

Hi! I'm Marvin a 4 year old, 65 pound Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix (I think!). Despite my looks, I'm the biggest mush and goofball you'll ever meet! I’m a happy go lucky guy and I love to roll around on my back with toys and stick out my hind legs when I’m laying down (they look like lamp chops, but please don’t try to eat them). If you sit on the floor a few feet away from me, I’ll crawl my way closer to you because I’ll love you so much.

I am one smart pup. I know how to sit, give paw, spin (just twirl your finger when you say it!), down, up, stay, come, go, leave it, and drop it. Housebroken? Of course I am and I'm great on a leash too!

One of my favorite things to do is play soccer! I would make the BEST goalie. I can leap 3 feet in the air to catch it with my mouth or bounce it off my nose. When I’m in the dog park playing soccer an audience often gathers in amazement to see my skills. I don’t even care if you accidentally kick the ball in my face—the game must go on! Word of advice: If we play soccer with 2 balls you’ll do a little less running. Don’t fear, it won’t be too much of a workout. I run so hard that I’m usually all tuckered out after 15 minutes, but don’t forget to bring lots of water because I love water breaks to catch my breath, and the whole time I’ll be wagging my tail. I also love to play "hide and treat!" If you ask me to sit and stay, then you can hide treats all over the house. When you’re done and tell me “free” I’ll go find them all. Sometimes I miss a few, but if this happens just stand in the area I missed and I’ll know I missed one. I LOVE THIS GAME!

Who doesn't love cuddling? I usually prefer it when it’s close to bed time. When I do cuddle, I have to tell you, I’m a lap dog. When I fall asleep I often dream, and I must tell you it is the cutest thing to watch.

My favorite treats are hot dogs and cheese. I might be the only dog that doesn’t like peanut butter.

I'd love an active experienced owner! I prefer to be the center of your world so no kids or cats for me please!

I can't help but love you! Come meet me and you'll see what an awesome pooch I am!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marvin Gaye, a Jersey City German Shepherd Dog/Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Cattle Dog for sale in Jersey City, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Jersey City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jersey City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jersey City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Cattle Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jersey City paves the way for another one to be saved.
