Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet Pea is a very sweet and typically gentle, eight-year-old, 42-pound, black blind Shar Pei looking for a loving guardian.
Sweet Pea is such a sweet girl and gives kisses to all her favorite people. She is housebroken and good with other dogs. She was used as a breeding dog and had multiple litters prior to her rescue.
This poor girl went blind because her human never got her the entropion eye surgery she needed. She had the operation after being rescued but it was too late to save her vision; the damage had been done.
Because she can’t see much more than shadows, she can be easily startled by someone coming up to her; so she would do best in a home without children.
To meet and possibly adopt Sweet Pea, please contact her foster mom Jen at peachesash@aol.com or 630-553-7829.
Sweet Pea is de-wormed, spayed, up to date on vaccines, micro-chipped and heartworm tested. Her adoption fee of $150 benefits rescued dogs. Sweet Pea is currently at a boarding center in Plano, Illinois.
