My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

To MEET Ruby - fill out an application. Cut and paste this link into your web browser: www.welcomehomedogrescue.org/adoption/application-to-adopt-a-companion/

Weight: 30 pounds (she looks big but she's actually on the small side of medium size)

Age: 11 months

Personality: Affectionate and friendly. Takes after her Golden Retriever mother in personality. She is a sweet, happy dog. She will need exercise but not a super high amount like a purebred Golden Retriever. Ruby has recently discovered the joy of playing with toys and has been enjoying playing with her foster siblings! She is extremely sweet, social, nicely balanced and a great girl! We haven't been able to find any bad habits! She was a little timid at first without her siblings, but she has settled in nicely with her foster family. She is getting used to all of the normal household sounds now!

Coat: Medium length, very soft and very Golden Retriever feeling. Jindos shed their undercoat, but only once or twice per year all at once Coat stays naturally clean with no doggy odor. Shedding only lasts 2-3 weeks and is very manageable with the right comb.

Training: Knows sit. Foster mom is working on basic obedience skills. Walks well on leash and has very nice manners, in spite of her young age.

Potty trained: Yes

Health: Excellent health, Korean Jindo dogs are known for their excellent health and vigor. Fully vetted, parasite free, no known health issues.

History: Ruby was one of 6 puppies who were sold to a meat farm in S Korea, along with their Golden Retriever mom. The father was a purebred Korean Jindo. A volunteer rescued mom and 6 puppies and took them home, where they were raised along with 3 human children. One puppy and the mom was adopted in Korea. Ruby and her 2 sisters were brought to California to find their forever home. Mixed breed dogs have a very difficult time getting adopted in Korea. They want purebred dogs who are under 10 pounds. Ruby's two brothers in Korea will be coming here to the USA to find homes! Are you interested in fostering? If it wasn't for their foster family in Korea, we could never have saved these beautiful dogs! They have such an amazing personality and are very sweet!
.
Fostered in: La Habra

Type of home: Most home situations would be a good match for Ruby. She'd make an excellent family dog with kids, but would also be quite happy with an active single person or couple. She will do well in social situations where you want to take your dog with you, like having coffee, a meal or walking through a store. She is a dog who needs attention, not in a clingy needy way, but she really enjoys being pet.

Crate trained: Yes

Good with Dogs: Yes all sizes. Lives with three Labradoodles and a Chihuahua at her foster home.
Good with Kids: Yes was raised with children
Good with Cats: Unknown
