My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Spike is in foster care in rural East Tennessee (Greeneville).

Here is Spike's story and it is hard to believe. Spike and another dog were tied behind a house and left by their owners. The neighbor that found them was shocked because he said it had been over a week since the family moved. Spike was so covered in fleas you couldn't see his white skin through the fleas. We don't believe he has ever been in a house. This little 7 pounder has been outside his entire life. He had extensive hair loss due to the fleas, but is growing back nicely. He is on high quality food and supplements to make his coat shine as it should. He is doing great with house breaking . Spike uses the doggie door and still enjoys being outside. He has discovered, however that a lap can be a very good thing too! Spike is a very confident little guy and is a good watchdog. He makes a funny sound and chats with you if you talk to him while holding him. He gets so excited to be loved. We think he is aprx. 7 yrs. old.

A trip to the vet found him surprisingly healthy! He was heart worm negative and was free of tick borne diseases. He is now up to date on his shots and neutered and ready for a forever home that will shower him with everything he deserves!

He must have a safe, fenced yard . He was often chained ( the truth again) to prevent him from chasing cars. He does enjoy relaxing on a front porch and enjoys being held and carried around. This little guy hasn't had much of that in his rough life. Spike would be fine with older children. He loves playing with the other little dogs in his foster home.
