My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oh, well hello there. My name is Guinness, and I’m glad to make your acquaintance. I’m the new adoptable gentleman here at NBS. Similar to the brew, I’m an easy going, smooth and calm boy. Indeed, I am not only handsome, but I am fully potty trained too. That is one of the perks of adopting an adult dog, like me who is 4-5 years old. If you were wondering what breed I am, I am best guessed to be a Shih Tzu – Cocker Spaniel – Poodle mix. Personally, I think it is easier if you just call me “shy and handsome” (wink wink). Humor aside, as much as I do love people, I can get overwhelmed pretty easily, so I would do best in a home with kids 10 and over, please and thank you. Like a proper gentleman, I also enjoy the finer, more simple things in life… Walks in the autumn air, taking my time getting to know someone new, the sound of a new treat bag being opened. Ahh, the better things in life.

Speaking of which, do you know the best part about life is? Rescuing a new friend, and having a happy tail of your own. Could mine be with you?

If you would like to fill out an application and learn more, you can do so at www.NBSanimalRescue.com. Even If I am not the gal for you, won’t you share my photo on your wall?

1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….

2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.

3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you’d like to meet me, please apply online and to become an approved adopter!

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and are ready to apply, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family just yet. However, would you please help by sharing my picture on Facebook, twitter or by email? I'm a great pup and need a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
