Duke's Story...
Meet Duke!

Duke is a 3 yr old Maltese rescued from a kill shelter in NC. Duke is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, neutered and dewormed. He is great with other dog and with kids. He *may* chase cats but he is living in harmony with one in foster care now. He does have cataract in his left eye that the vet said is genetic. He is friendly, snuggly, and just a total happy love bug! Because of his vision loss in his one eye, sudden movement can startle him. Because of that, we feel he should not go to a home with children under 14.

Adoption fee $300

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duke, a Franklinville Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Franklinville, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Franklinville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Franklinville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Franklinville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Franklinville paves the way for another one to be saved.
