I am already neutered, purebred, and up to date with shots.
Petey was brought in as a stray, found wandering near Lake Billy Chinook campground. He was extremely scared, his ungrounded fur badly matted, and very dirty and smelly. Petey was super fearful and spent a few days on the back of his kennel growling at us. Good thing Petey loves treats! With patience, lots of treats, and nothing but kindness, we have won him over. He now eagerly jumps in our laps, allows us to pick him up, and even tolerated a grooming. He is great with other dogs of all sizes and cats, but because he is a fear biter, we do not want him to be in a home with small children. When he does fear bite, he does not puncture or leave marks, but let's be honest, when he's scared, biting works to increase distance! If you have the patience to let this love bug get to know you at his own pace, and know how to deal with a dog that isn't a social butterfly (at first) maybe Petey will be your new best friend. The vet aged him at about 9-10 years old. He does love to go for walks, though, and is very good on the leash.
Pupdate - Petey wins the award for "most improved!" He has been so social, out going and friendly to strangers. We no longer see any apprehension or warnings of fear biting. He has done a total turnaround and now feels safe and secure again. Check out his video, this was shot of him meeting 2 strangers. He also has been spending time in the front office and no marking!! Woohoo!
Petey's adoption fee is $75 and includes neuter, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days free pet health insurance, and custom engraved ID tag.
