Zach is a sweet, affectionate (and handsome!!) young guy who's been passed over time and time again. We just don't understand it! Zach is calm and well-behaved, has attended obedience classes and knows basic commands, walks well on a leash, is housebroken and happily goes into his kennel without a peep. He bonds quickly to his people and is happy to follow you around and see what you're up to. Zach likes other dogs with proper introductions, particularly those his own size who like to run and wrestle, and is happy to meet new people. He's looking for a home without cats or small animals (they're just too interesting) and would be best suited to a home without very small children. In true Shepherd fashion, he's a sensitive dog who's very in tune with his handler so someone with large breed experience would be his ideal match. He's very smart and would love to find someone who will challenge him both physically and mentally with daily runs or bike rides, playtime and puzzle toys. Zach will soon be turning 2 and we would love to see him enjoy his birthday as part of a family. If you think he may be a fit for your family, please submit an adoption application.
