My story

Poor little Bastrop was dumped in the shelter by his family because another dog there was beating him up and he came with a couple scars to prove it. He is very sweet and thrives on gentle and loving treatment. He has come so far out of his shell in about a week of acceptance and welcome by his new pack. All these dogs are enjoying getting him to play. He leans on your leg as you pet him and clearly loves the human touch. He is not at all intrusive. He will come to you when called and wait patiently to be petted.

Bastrop went to his first Meet and Greet at Petsmart on Sunday and was a hit with the kids and grownups alike. Everyone commented on his gentle and sweet behavior. He needs a loving home that will only use reward of attention and love in training. He is not too interested in treats, just love him and he will give you back his devotion. Harsh treatment will shut him down, but verbal encouragement will get him happy and ready to learn.
