My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PUMPKIN is a 3 year old spayed chocolate female Lab who weighs 41 pounds which is a good weight for her. She has a deep brown coat and beautiful golden eyes. She is very timid and fearful but not aggressive at all. Pumpkin is submissive to other dogs, licking their faces and rolling to show her belly. When she goes outside she likes to patrol the yard and enjoys jumping on to the stone wall around the patio so she can get a better view of the goings on in neighboring yards. She is current on vaccines and heartworm negative. Pumpkin will need a quiet home in the suburbs or a rural setting without a lot of comings and goings and a patient forever family willing to work to earn her trust.
Pumpkin came to us from a rural shelter with her 4 puppies. Unfortunately, the puppies came down with parvo and even though we provided round the clock care, only one puppy survived. We are working with Pumpkin on leash. She is good with other dogs. No cat kid history . Pumpkin is approved for kids ages 10+.

Update (11/07): Pumpkin is a sweet dog, she walks beautifully on leash, she is house trained, and she has a beautiful coat and eyes. She has a good appetite and sleeps quietly all night. She is cautious around men but is doing well with the foster's husband and teenage boys when give some time to get to know them. Pumpkin is a quiet dog who can take a little while to warm up to people. She is very loving once she gets to know you. She doesn't mind spending time alone hanging out in someplace comfy. She likes toys and to meander around the yard. She will exchange sniffs with the other dogs, then she will observe them. She is very submissive to other dogs. Does not like to be observed doing her daily business and is sometimes shy about going in and out if someone is near the door. Pumpkin is slow to trust her humans and would do best in a home with other dogs, a fenced yard, and patient humans who will let her come to them. She will reward your patience with a wagging tail.

Update (10/22): Pumpkin is such a pretty girl. She is enjoying being in a loving foster home. She continues to get along well with other dog. She is looking forward to finding a forever family that will show her the love that she so deserves!
