Amigo's Story...
Hola! My name's Amigo, what's yours? I was recently found as a stray and brought to the shelter. They're guessing I'm around 4 years old, and am a chihuahua. No one knows where my family went to, but at least I'm safe at the shelter now. I'm am pretty scared, and take a bit of time to warm up to new people. I would like a quiet home with someone who will help me gain some confidence and learn that there's no need to be scared all the time.

Prior to being adopted I will be up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and will have a microchip. All I need now is that special someone to be MY amigo, and love me for the rest of my life. Could that someone be YOU?!?

The shelter is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1-5, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, and Saturday from 10-2. Come visit!

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Amigo, a Youngwood Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
