My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

REGAN is an 8 month old intact black female Lab that weighs 30 pounds. Regan, along with Merlin and Dash, were taken from their owners by a local shelter due to poor living conditions. They asked us for our help. Regan is a sweet, but slightly timid, girl. She is being treated for demodex (not contagious) and has inflamed skin and some hair loss that should heal up fairly quickly with medication. We are working with her on more socialization. She and Merlin do not have to go together, but she may benefit from having another dog in the home to help her learn the ropes. Regan was an "outdoor dog" in her previous "home". She is keeping her crate clean at the vet. Good with other dogs and would benefit from a doggy friend to give her confidence. No cat history . Regan is not yet spayed. The vet recommends holding off on surgery until her skin is in better shape and not so inflamed, possibly up to a month. We will have her spayed as soon as is medically feasible. Regan is approved for kids ages 10+.

Update (01/11): Regan gets along with male and female dogs and cats. She didn't come from the best environment, so she is still skittish and will run at loud noises. She doesn't warm up to men as well as women. She loves, loves to snuggle and be near her people. When you stop petting her, she will try to grab your hand with her paw to get you keep going. She is very petite, weighing in around 40pounds. Her skin is almost totally cleared up from the demodex and her fur has come back in. Regan must go to a home with another dog as she looks to them for confidence. Contact your AC about Regan. You won't be disappointed in this sweetie.

Update (12/19): Regan is the sweetest little girl looking for her forever family. She gets along great with both male and female dogs and cats. She is petite. She's also crate trained and 99% house trained. She is very loving and loves to be near her peeps. Regan came from a not so great situation. She's learning to trust people but sudden movements and noises still startle her. She is working on her commands Regan needs to be adopted by a family with at least one dog. Ask your AC about Regan.

Update (12/14): We are almost there with Regan. She was able to get all her vaccines completed. She still has a little bit of demodex to clear up before we can spay her but she is ready for adoption. She has become snuggly and cuddly and loves to crawl up beside you and lay her head in your lap to snooze. She loves playing with other dogs and likes to sleep in her human foster sister's bed!

Update (11/25): Regan's skin is almost totally cleared up. She has been able to get her vaccines. She loves playing with her foster siblings and is really loving human touch these days. What a difference some TLC and attention makes! She is scheduled for spay on 12/12. See her play on YouTube: https://youtu.be/ZoP3w_pRV1U

Update (10/22): Regan is so very sweet. She's jumpy when there is sudden movement and hides when you come upon her too quick. She's working on learning to go outside and head down steps. She is a bit unsure of the steps and sometimes has to be carried. She's so excited in the mornings jumping up and down at breakfast time. Despite her rough start she has nothing but love to give. We are working on potty training. She has started to notice cats and chases one every now and then. I think she would do good at a house that had a dog that would interact and play with her. She's getting braver and has started initiating playing with my male dog, chasing him all around the yard. She's good. She bounces on her front paws when she gets excited. She sleeps with one of the kids all night. Never gets down or has an accident. She does well in the crate during the day. She is slowly coming around and with some more love and TLC will leave her previous life behind.
