Lilo's Story...
Lilo is a sable female German Shepherd puppy who is about 7 months old. She is crate trained and knows how to use the dog door. Lilo is good in the house, loves riding in the car and is content sleeping in her crate but is also good out of the crate at night. Lilo has loved to play with compatible dogs in each of her foster homes. She is sometimes shy meeting new people or rambunctious dogs but warms up quickly. She is very smart, playful and active and is best for experienced German Shepherd Dog or similar owners. Lilo will need another dog(s) as she is happiest with other compatible dogs in the home. She would do best in a low key adult home. Puppies require owners who are home enough, and have the time, energy, strength, and patience to guide the puppy through it's chewing, digging, and mouthing stages (which can last until they are 2-3 years old), and who will provide regular exercise, socialization and training so the puppy will grow up to be a mannerly adult dog. All puppies bark incessantly, dig, and destroy things if they are left alone for long periods of time, and thus, need to be with owners who do not leave them alone for long hours. Priority will be given to families with experience raising German Shepherd Dog or similar puppies.

Lilo is microchipped, vaccinated, and comes with a collar, all included in adoption fee.

If you are interested in meeting Lilo, please fill out our adoption questionnaire which you can find at http://www.scgsr.org/adoption/aq/.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lilo, a Walnut Creek German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Walnut Creek, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in Walnut Creek.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Walnut Creek already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Walnut Creek breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Walnut Creek paves the way for another one to be saved.
