My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Misty! Misty is a 6 year old Red Australian Heeler/Australian Shepherd mix. She is spayed and current on shots. Misty has spent much of her life in a large fenced yard or a cattle trailer. Her owners had a hobby farm where they kept quite a few animals until they were physically unable to take care of them anymore. Misty was left behind on the farm and often locked in a cattle trailer until they could make it back out to the farm. Understandably, Misty suffers from separation anxiety especially from her foster mom. There isn’t anywhere she won’t go if her foster mom is along to show her the way. She gets along well with other animals (cats, dogs, coats, sheep, cows, chickens) and friendly to everyone she meets. She has just learned what it’s like to start living in a house and she is doing great. Housetraining came naturally. Her foster mom reports that she even enjoys chasing after balls! Misty would do well in a home where there is another dog and where someone is home most of the day. She will make a loyal, smart (with training she could learn many tricks) and gentle companion since she wants nothing more than love and affection. She would need a fenced yard if left alone outside, but when taking walks with her foster mom she stays close by and constantly checks to make sure “her mom” is still around. If you would like to meet Misty or visit with her foster mom, please call Jenni at 840-8332.
